Flood and drought solutions
With all the flooding down south of Australia or wherever it occurs you would think the politicians would wake up and do something sensible about collecting the water. UM think about it we are in DROUGHT!!! The problem we face is the politicians and other government members do not seem to want to do the job they are paid for by our hard earned money in the form of taxes.
The collection would be simple send 10 tankers twice down to collect the water whcih hold 50,000 litres each and bingo 1 million litres of water saved. This would also help with a secondary problem of employment, it would if done on a regular basis be employment for at least 10-15 extra people.
We understand the water may not be sanitary, however nor is our standard drinking water or bore water until treated. this water would need less treatment than say reclaimed sewage. As this seems logical or to simple this could be why the government is not doing it.
Every day Queensland alone would waste about 40 million litres of water just to get the temprature right. Example this morning to get hot water for doing the dishes I ran 4 litres of cold from the hot pipe to get hot water and vice versa in summer. Assuming 2 million people had this problem if using 4 litreseach time as in the example above 5 times a day this would easily equate to a waste of 4 million litres.
For one thing the government of Australia really needs to insist on all new and old houses being insullated. Insulating around the pipes would help reduce an approximate 40 million litres of water waste a day or 120 million litres wasted a MONTH. Then on the other hand the insullation would help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by having to use less energy to either keep the houses warm or cool.
As you can see by the attached picture we collect this water rather than letting it run down the drain. This water is use for other things such as rinsing dishes then watering the plants. SEE THEBESTISIT.COM for a water use chart and more hints on help-with-climate-change.

On a final note we would like to see a group or any of our politicians live with us or under our control for a week to see if they can actually survive on 40 - 80 litres of water a day like we do. Another ausis.info Flood and drought solutions
